英语中日期有两种写法：
一种是按月、日、年的顺序排列，
另一种是按日、月、年的顺序排列。
牢记将年份放在最后，其前用逗号与月、日隔开。
以2001年3月21日为例，有如下两张表达方式：
a. 把月份写在日期前面，这通常是美国写法。即：March 21st, 2001，读作March the twenty-first, two thousand and one。
b. 先写日子，再写月份和年，这通常是英国写法。即：21st March, 2001，读作the twenty-first of March, two thousand and one。
此外，非正式情况下，月份也可简写为阿拉伯数字。

4. 英语日期的简写
书写方面，先看下面的两个例子：
1、1986 年 10 月 23 日→October 23(rd), 1986
2、2002 年 1 月 17 日→January 17(th), 2002
从上面的例子可以看出，英语日期的表达与汉语不同。英语表达的顺序为\"月、
日、年\"，因此 2004年11月8日就可写成 November 8th, 2004，还可表示为 November eighth,
2004。
另外，也可写成\"日、月、年\"，8th November, 2004 即 the eighth of November,
2004。
1）“日子”用基数词和序数词都可以接受
如：March 28th, 2009 / March 28, 2009
2）“月份”和“日子”可以换位， 英式：28 March, 2009； 美式：March 28,2009
3）缩写时容易造成误解，英式：“日/月/年”；美式“月/日/年”
如：2009 年 3 月 1 日
英式缩写：01/03/2009
美式缩写：03/01/2009
两种方法都存在，英式写法的顺序比较受欢迎，国际使用较多。

单词的缩写
有时为了书写简便，在表示星期、月份时要对较长的单词进行缩写。
1、星期
Sunday(Sun.),Monday(Mon.),Tuesday(Tues.),Wednesday(Wed.),Thursday(Thur. or

记忆方法：除“星期二”取前四个字母和“星期四”取前四个或五个字母外，其余单词

3、在英语的日期表达中，表示某日一般使用序数词，其缩写通常为：1st,2nd,3rd,
4th,5th,30th
记忆方法：1 号，2 号，3 号，21 号，22 号，23 号的缩写均为“日期数+st、nd、
rd(first,second,third 的后两个字母) ”，其余的日子缩写均为“数字+th”；也可直接用数字来表达某日。如 March 14,1995 或 March 14th,1995。
