youth是集合名词，表示这一类人，年轻人这一类。如果表示这类人时，是单数的概念，所以谓语动词用单数；如果表示这类人中的每一个时，是数得清的概念、是复数的，所以谓语动词用复数。
teen:(13-19岁的)青少年
teen作为这个意思，应该是teenager的简写形式，用的时候也不太多。
