四月的一天，吉姆·里德收取了他的电子邮件。他发现了一封古怪的邮件。那是封来自华盛顿的妇女写的信。在过去的十天里，他们通过电子邮件交流过很多次。她所写的其他邮件读起来都风趣幽默。但这封不同。邮件上说：“别了，能认识你太好了。我要走了。”
里德被这封信吓坏了，他迅速写了封邮件给自己的这位新朋友。
